About

I’m an engineer with 5 years of professional experience. I finished college in 2021 at IIITDM Kancheepuram, in Chennai. The city that gave me one of my early memories — seeing the beach for the first time. Small thing, but it’s stuck with me since.

What I do

I started tinkering with small data science projects back in college. That curiosity followed me into my first job, where I joined the cybersecurity team at Zoom — and that’s where my interest in big data went from casual to something I want to build a career around.

These days I work in Detection and Response team, where my job is to keep the data flowing for the people running detections, handling incidents, & security operations. Concretely, that means building and managing data pipelines that feed decision-making processes. I also manage a datalake where older data goes. What still gets me, even after doing this for a while, is the sheer scale of it — we process terabytes of data per day and turn it decision-worthy in seconds.

Right now I’m learning AI. Not because it’s trendy, but because I believe reliable & scalable automation of repetitive work is what actually buys people (including me) the time to go work after more impactful and interesting problems.

Outside of work

I enjoy running and playing badminton. I’ve tried swimming and tennis too, but time got in the way of both — tennis especially, I’d pick back up without second thought when life opens next opportunity.

Unwinding post a long week, for me, looks like coffee and a book on a saturday morning at an open-air cafe. Right now I’m reading The Case for Ram — and what’s struck me most about it is how a handful of people, judges and lawyers, worked through a 500-year-old, deeply sensitive religious dispute inside a courtroom — one with the potential to set off riots across the country — and made sure it didn’t.

I live in Bengaluru, and I’ve come to love its lakes. Being near one, I think, is a big part of why my streak of running keeps going.

Outside the day job, I like building things that make a real difference in the lives of people around me. I built my own expense-tracking app, mostly because I’m still figuring out personal finance myself, and I didn’t want to hand my spending habits over to some tool, company, or AI model to do it for me.
